5 Die after storm in Haiti

The United Nations said on Saturday that aid workers were providing assistance in Haiti after a sudden rainstorm in the capital Port-au-Prince, whose residents are still trying to recover from January’s earthquake. At least five people in Port-au-Prince have reportedly died as a result of a brief but sharp storm on Friday.UN officials said the heavy rains and high winds severely affected several of the camps for internally displaced people (IDPs), who have been homeless since the January 12 quake. Officials said at least one million Haitians were still living in tent camps or makeshift housing, eight months after the earthquake that killed about 300,000 people.
